Soil of Africa civic movement has demanded the reinstatement of a 13-year-old learner who has been dismissed from his school as he suffers frequent “demonic attacks.”

Sources have described the Grade 6 Rethabile Primary School in Kekana Gardens, Hammanskraal boy learner as a “a bright child who has always received awards and certificates for best performance regarding his school work over the years.”

The learner has been compelled to stay away from school since February this year because according to the school’s principal, he happened to be absent from school for a period of more than 10 days without a valid reason and he therefore removed the boy from the school’s system.

In order to heal the so-called demonic attacks, the boy has attended various churches, consulted prophets, social workers and psychologists without any success.

The boy learner’s father said “the boy has been experiencing orchestrated, evil demonic attacks for over 5 years now and when under attack from evil spirits which possess him and he starts making funny unconventional moves,” he said.

He complained about the fact that the principal of the school wants him as the father to produce a medical doctor’s letter which confirms that his son has been healed and will no longer suffer the aforesaid attacks.

“This is traumatic to me because where in the world can one get a letter which says so and so will never suffer demonic attacks again!? ” he lamented.

He said schools are not designed to cater fie cases like that which is affecting his son.

According to the father, the demonic attacks befall his son each time he comes near the gate if the school, causing him to pass out and will wake up only after being prayed for or a Holy Bible verse has been read to him.

He said what irks him the most is that the principal of the school thinks his son is merely playing games and pretending to be possessed by evil spirits.

“I have put everything in the hands of God and I am of the opinion that the person causing my son to be possessed by evil spirits is doing so deliberately,” he said.

“This is not the first time that my son has been archived and removed from the school’s system because while he was doing Grade 3 he was suspended from school for over six months and had to repeat the said grade the following year and passed it with flying colours,” he said .

He said special schools in South Africa only cater for deaf and dumb learners and not for a case akin to that of his son.

He expressed great satisfaction about the intervention of Soil of Africa regarding his son’s reinstatement.

Thus after he was told by some teachers that they were tired about his son and wanted him to take a letter of transfer from the school for his son.

He described himself as an unemployed chemical engineer and pointed out that if he had money he would take him to a school of specialisation.

“Soil of Africa condemns the Rethabile Primary School in Kekana Gardens, Hammanskraal’s handling of the issue of the alleged demonic attack on a brilliant Grade 6 A student,” said founder and Chairperson of Soil of Africa Bongani Ramontja.

“Despite the severity of these inexplicable and terrifying demonic incidents, the school’s principal has taken drastic measures to remove the learner without following proper procedure or exploring alternative solutions such as home schooling,” said Ramontja.

“We question the school’s decision-making process and its commitment to providing a safe and supportive learning environment, and Soil of Africa demands justice and accountability for the vulnerable learner,” he said.

“We will not stand idly while a government institution fails to prioritise the well-being and education of our children,” he fumed.

He said Soil of Africa will hold the school’s administration accountable, including the district education officials, to ensure the safety and dignity of all students and we therefore call upon the whole community to join us in this fight against injustice,” he said.
