A joint tactical team comprising members from Rietgat SAPS, Soshanguve K9, and the Flying Squad was swiftly assembled.
With the provided information at hand, the team identified a specific residence, whereupon they observed the house for a period and noticed male at the house.
After surrounding the premises, the team approached tactically. During initial interviews with the male resident, another individual arrived, claiming ownership of the property.
The purpose of the visit was duly communicated to the homeowner, along with the ensuing procedures.
A thorough search of the premises ensued, leading to the discovery of a 9mm pistol concealed within material at the rear of the property. Subsequent to this finding, a police dog alerted officers to a concealed compartment within a wall, revealing a second 9mm pistol along with 29 rounds of ammunition.
Both individuals present were promptly arrested and charged with the illegal possession of firearms and ammunition.
The recovered firearms will undergo ballistic testing to ascertain their potential involvement in other criminal activities.
