THE COMMUNITY OF PRETORIA CENTRAL IS URGED TO BE MORE VIGILANT OF VARIOUS CRIMINAL CONDUCTS TAKING PLACE IN THE INNER CITY

Over the past weeks Pretoria Central SAPS has been receiving a number of violent incidents where perpetrators directly target innocent people.

The recent criminal trends include contact crime such common robberies, robbery with other weapons, theft out and from motor vehicles and other related crimes.

Both motorists and commuters should take note and be aware that there is multiple syndicates working together to terrorize citizens, also taking into account that it is winter, becoming darker and suspects are capitalizing on that especially targeting women.

This is the following safety tips the community should take into account:

•Commuters are urged to take taxis on designated areas, such as taxi ranks and terminals.

•When traveling ensure you take a number plate of the transportation you are traveling in is taken into account to help lead during the investigation.

•Pedestrian and “tavern gowers” are advised to walk in groups and also encourage to take any mode of transportation such as Uber, Bolt, bold and indrive to ensure their safety.

•The community is urged not to carry touch cash or any valuables such as electronic gadgets( laptops, cameras, bags and other important staff) when traveling(especially in secluded space or areas).

•Motorist should park in designated areas refrain from parking in secluded or remote areas, ensure windows and doors are locked at all times, give lifts to strangers. Lastly your life is valuable than your possessions, corporate in life threatening situations.

The station is working tirelessly around the clock to increase visibility in the identity areas, which are hotspots and prone to such crimes; but we also plead with the community to report any criminal activities and they can do it anonymously so.
