MEC for Cooperative Governance and Traditional Affairs, E-Government, Research and Development Mzi Khumalo officially hands over the uniform for Civic Education Community Ambassadors and also Launched Voter Registration Programme in Mamelodi High School, Tshwane on Monday.
MEC Khumalo formally unveiled and handed over the uniform which will identify the Civic Ambassadors as they engage citizens within the province.
MEC for Cooperative Governance and Traditional Affairs, E-Government, Research and Development Mzi Khumalo said Gauteng Province has established a Civic Education Community Ambassadors Corps to assist with voter registration and civic awareness across Gauteng province.
“The unveiling also marked the start of the High school voters registration process at the event hosted by Mamelodi High School,” MEC Khumalo said.
Addressing the Civic Education Community Ambassadors, MEC Khumalo implored the ambassadors to at all times discharge their responsibilities in a non-partisan manner and expect the highest form of professionalism, integrity, and honesty.
The South African Youth Council in Gauteng has overwhelmingly endorsed and supported this program and further committed to work with Civic Education
Community Ambassadors in all wards in Gauteng.
Youth activists Don Design, ELTido and Yanga Chief encouraged learners at Mamelodi High School to register and vote in the upcoming general elections.
