UAT condemns the sexual molestation of 13-Year-Old Grade 7 Learner by School Teacher in Makotopong, Mankweng village, Limpopo United Africans Transformation (UAT) has been approached by the parents of a 13-year-old girl from Makotopong village, who was continuously sexually molested by a schoolteacher.

The alleged perpetrator, a teacher at Mananga Primary School, has been accused of sexually violating the minor from November 2024.

The abuse allegedly occurred on school premises, before school started, and the perpetrator threatened to kill the victim if she spoke out.

The class teacher noticed a change in the victim’s behaviour and, upon inquiry, the 13-year-old revealed the horrific abuse. UAT will attend the court hearing, scheduled for tomorrow morning at 8 am at Mankweng Magistrate Court.

We call upon all women and structures to join forces in condemning this heinous act. A mass meeting will be held in Makotopong village next week Tuesday, 8 April 2025 to discuss the planned march to the Mankweng Circuit office.

Regarding rape cases in schools, Statistics South Africa reported that in 2022/23, rape was the most common crime committed against children, accounting for 38.3% of all cases involving minors.

The perpetuation of such egregious crimes is unacceptable and demands immediate attention. Collective action is necessary to eradicate this scourge.

UAT has pledged unwavering support to the 13-year-old victim and their family, vowing to pursue justice relentlessly until perpetrators are brought to book.
