The Progressive Forces of South Africa (PFSA) acknowledges the official announcement of the national elections date, set for 4 November 2026.

As a movement dedicated to fostering robust democratic engagement, the PFSA reiterates its commitment to civic education and national participation, irrespective of political affiliation.

We are emphatically not politically affiliated and, therefore, cannot endorse or encourage citizens to vote for any specific political party.

Our mandate is to empower citizens to exercise their fundamental constitutional right to vote.

In this regard, we wish to highlight and
encourage community leaders possessing a demonstrated record of dedicated service to their communities to consider standing as
independent candidates.

We acknowledge that the current electoral
system presents significant challenges for independent candidates, yet we believe their participation adds crucial local perspective and accountability.

Furthermore, the PFSA strongly encourages young South Africans to become actively involved in the political discourse and processes.

For those who aspire to serve their communities directly, particularly those
considering the path of independent candidacy, we stand ready to offer guidance and support.

While we emphasize that this journey is
inherently challenging, we firmly believe that such obstacles should not deter passionate individuals from contributing to public service.

Should citizens opt to vote for a political party, we advise a discerning approach.

We urge voters to support parties and candidates that unequivocally prioritize South African interests and demonstrate a consistent commitment to placing the welfare and needs of their respective wards above narrow party mandates.

Informed choices are the bedrock of effective governance.

We also issue a critical call for vigilance and enhanced public education regarding the distinction between local government elections and national elections.

It is imperative that voters are not misled by parties employing deceptive tactics.

Specifically, we caution against promises of food and clothing in exchange for votes, and the dangerous misinformation circulating that suggests voting for parties other than one’s own would result in the forfeiture of social grants.

Social grants are a right funded by the collective contributions of all taxpayers, not a benefit bestowed by individual political parties.

Understanding this distinction is vital for an equitable electoral process.

The Progressive Forces of South Africa implores all citizens to approach the electoral period with informed awareness, exercising their vote as a powerful tool for shaping the future of our nation.
