A 41-year-old Congolese national appeared in the Pretoria Magistrates’ Court today, facing 8 counts of compelled sexual assault and 6 counts of assault with grievous bodily harm.

The charges emanate from two case dockets opened against the accused.

It is alleged that in April 2022 the accused assaulted the two victims in the matter.

On a separate incident in January 2023, it is alleged the accused compelled four male persons to perform sexual acts on themselves.

This was discovered when videos surfaced on social media, which resulted in 6 complainants opening cases against the accused.

In court the matter was postponed to 03 March 2025 for bail information.

Investigations are ongoing, more charges might be added.

Meanwhile MK Party leader in Tshwane Abel Tau, who was at the court together with his fellow MK members, said the Zanzou nightclub incident should be condemned in the harshest of terms and that as MK Party they are disgusted as this incident reminds them of the days of incidents of torture that took place during the dark days of apartheid and was opening the wounds that were about to heal.

“As MK Party one of the pillars that we hold dear is that the dignity of the black people of South Africa must be restored and we advocate for Ubuntu, but what we have seen in the video is barbaric in nature and no human being should be subjected to such treatment, let alone young kids who were out at the nightclub celebrating the fact that they would be going to university,” he said.

Tau said young people in South Africa cannot co-exist with foreigners who are hell-bent on destroying them, take away their innocence, pride and sense of manhood.

“We are calling upon anyone who has been violated in this manner to contact us as MK Party so that we can bring their tormentors to book,” enthused Tau.

“We are going to follow various avenues to make sure that we rid our country of this kind of sick behaviour that is being perpetuated by foreigners, we are going to throw the book at them and throw away the keys once they have been locked up to show that we are not going to tolerate these barbaric acts,” fumed Tau.

It has now emerged that the arrested Congolese foreigner claims that he was tortured by the police while in custody but couldn’t reveal any marks or evidence to prove his point.
