The March and March Movement is saddened by the tragic loss of its leader in Greenfields, Ekurhuleni, Gauteng Province.
Mr Andile Mvuyelwa Somgxada, a dedicated and peace loving patriotic South African,
was gunned down while leaving his home on Saturday, 04 July 2026.
He was rushed to the hospital for medical attention, where he fought for his life until the final hour on Thursday, 09 July 2026, where he was pronounced dead.
The news come in the wake of various other leaders of the March and March Movement receiving either warnings or death threats, coming from those who benefit from extortion and the proceeds of demanding protection fees from illegal foreign nationals who are running illegal businesses.
We call upon law enforcement authorities to get to the bottom of this matter as it is
bound to exert unnecessary tensions in various communities.
The March and March Movement can confirm that its leader in the Tshwane region has
received warning messages after the march held in Mamelodi on Thursday, 09 July 2026.
Similar threats have also been received in Umlazi township in KwaZulu-Natal and also in Mpumalanga province, which are all directed at March and March leaders.
The March and March Movement vows to intensify its Thursday marches throughout
the Country, and Gauteng Province in particular, where there is resistance and a bulk of illegal foreign nationals.
We call upon South Africans to stand up in defense of their Country against drug
cartels, extortionists disguised as security companies, drug dealers, and human trafficking agents whose businesses are frustrated by these continuous marches.
We call upon South Africans to honour the life of a fellow patriot and marcher, Mr Andile Mvuyelwa Somgxada, whose legacy will never be allowed to go down in vain.
A memorial service is planned for this week in Gauteng Province, and his funeral service will be held in the Eastern Cape, subject to further family advice.
