Uyajola 9/9 reality TV show presenter Gomolemo “Jub-Jub” Maarohanye has been arrested yet again.

This time the jail-prone Maarohanye was arrested on Sunday in Edenvale, Johannesburg, following an altercation with an e-haling driver.

He faces charges of defeating the ends of justice, kidnapping as well as unlawful discharge of a firearm, and is expected to appear in the Germiston Magistrate’s Court on Monday.

It is alleged that Maarohanye confronted the e-hailing driver who had just dropped off his ( Maarohanye’s) girlfriend at some residential place and accused him (the e-haling driver) of having an affair with his girlfriend.

It is further alleged that Maarohanye fired several gun shots at the e-hailing driver who nevertheless managed to escape unharmed.

In March 2010 Maarohanye was arrested together with his friend Themba Tshabalaka after both their cars crashed into a group of school learners in Soweto.

Maarohanye and Tshabalala were engaging in a drag-racing game at the time of the incident and were found to be driving under the influence of drugs and alcohol.

Four learners died as a result of the incident while the other two were maimed permanently.

Maarohanye and Tshabalala were each sentenced to 25 years in jail for murder, but in 2012 the Johannesburg High Court changed charges against them to those of culpable homicide and sentenced them to only 10 years imprisonment, and they got released after serving only five years in jail in 2017.

In recent years Maarohanye was arrested on charges of violence and sexual assault which were later withdrwan by the National Prosecuting Authority.
