The African Unite Borders Bus Trucks Association would like to alert South African citizens that soon the country will have to adopt the United States dollars or British pounds as as its currency just like many African countries.
This will be brought about by the sanctions, currency downgrades and high fuel crisis that are a result of the war in the Middle East between Iran on the one hand and Israel and the USA on the other hand.
We are aware and worried about diesel price hikes of up to 28,25%, by some petrol-filling stations in Sandton, Johannesburg with the war in the Middle East being given as a reason for the increase.
We are going to witness more private fuel stations charging motorists unreasonable prices for fake diesel which will lead to their car engines being damaged.
Two years ago these filling stations which sell fake diesel were fined for their criminal behaviour.
Minister of Energy and Petroleum Gwede Mantashe must make sure that besides being fined, licenses of fuel stations selling fake diesel are withdrawn.
Unregulated filling stations must now Aldi be exposed.
We are worried that the fuel increases will cause suffering on commuters and ordinary people will lose their jobs.
The government must make urgent policies to safeguard our food security.
