Three suspects have been killed and eight arrested following a cash in transit robbery that occured on the aftenoon of 09 April 2025 at Soutpan road in Soshanguve area.
It is alleged that a cash in transit van was blocked on the road and a number of armed suspects came out, over powering the crew and bombed the cash van.
As they fled the scene with an undisclosed amount of money, the members from Tactical Response Team (TRT) responded and a chase ensued.
The suspects fired shots at the members who retaliated.
During the shooting out, three of the suspects were killed and five plus three injured suspects were arrested while two of the members sustained gun shot wounds and were were admitted at hospital for medical treatment.
One male bystander was caught in the cross fire and was fatally wounded.
The police also seized four vehicles which are believed to have been used in the commission of crime.
They further recovered four rifles. Police investigations continue.
