THERE WILL SOON BE BLOOD ON THE FLOOR OF TSHWANE POLITICS AS TWO DOCTORS GO HEAD TO HEAD

There will soon be blood on the floor of City of Tshwane Municipality politics as two doctors Kgoshi Maepa and Nasiphi Moya go head to head legally and politically.

Dr Maepa is the ANC candidate for the position of Mayor in Tshwane while Dr Moya is the incumbent Mayor and ActionSA candidate for the selfsame Mayoral position.

Dr Maepa has already launched a prolonged, spirited campaign that is centred around labelling Dr Moya as a dishonest Mayor who has used City of Tshwane Municipality funds for upgrades at her private house and also on her swimming pool.

So far Dr Moya has vehemently refuted Dr Maepa’s allegations against her, and her party ActionSA has threatened to take legal action against Dr Maepa and get the Independent Electoral Commission to disqualify him (Maepa) as a mayoral candidate due to his “unbecoming behavior ” that includes “wild allegations ” against the Mayor.

Dr Maepa has also submitted a complaint to the Public Protector and now plans to open a criminal case against Dr Moya with priority crime police unit the Hawks.

Now whichever way this matter comes to conclusion, there will definitely be blood on the floor.

If Dr Maepa’s allegations are true, then Dr Moya will have to abandon her position as Mayor of the City of Tshwane and also get off her position as ActionSA Mayoral candidate.

She will also face criminal charges and possible jail time for corruption.

But if Dr Maepa’s allegations against the Mayor are baseless, then in revenge Dr Moya will go for the jugular and sue him down to his last penny and pants, and also subject him to criminal charges which may also end up with Maepa going to jail.

But there is a Sepedi language idiom that cautions that when two dogs fight for a bone, a third dog may come and take the said bone away, while the said two dogs are engrossed in the fight.

This assertion is based on the fact that the newly-formed Security Personnel Party of South Africa (SPPSA) is making inroads in the City of Tshwane Municipality regarding the 4 November 2026 Local Government Elections.

With its steady but sure campaign, the party is garnering support each and every day and many people in Tshwane know about it and don’t give a damn about the squabble between the two doctors Maepa and Moya.

It won’t come as a surprise if the SPPSA wins several seats in the upcoming local government elections or even wins the majority of votes to take over the position of the Mayor of Tshwane.

The party’s leader Sello Shulas Mashule is quite passionate about the well-being of the people of Tshwane and his grassroots policies as well as the party’s manifesto indicate that SPPSA will deliver the much-needed service delivery should it be voted into power in the City of Tshwane.
