Start-Up Hurdle Pretoria launched the Tshwane entrepreneurial initiative on Thursday at Ditsela Place in Hatfield.
Amongst the guests were different business people from top companies, youth and local small business.
According to Start-Up Huddle Pretoria Marketing Manager Mpilenhle Hadebe, the initiative is in conjunction with the Centre of Entrepreneurship Development in Tshwane.
“This initiative gives a platform to entrepreneurs in Tshwane as we know that we have an unemployment crisis in South Africa and to curb this issue we have brought together different stakeholders in our society like civil society organisations, budding SMMEs, matured businesses, private sector and government chambers all together in one room to make sure that our start-ups have a great entrepreneurial eco-system to function within our society,” said Hadebe.
“We want to make sure that Tshwane becomes the entrepreneurial capital of South Africa,” she said.
She pointed out that the launch of the launch of the entrepreneurial initiative is driven by the Global Entrepreneurship Network as works in partnership with the Tshwane University of Technology Centre for Entrepreneurship Development and that it aims is to provide local entrepreneurs, Start-Ups and change-makers with a vibrant and inclusive platform to discuss challenges, gather crowd-sourced feedback and forge connections that support their development,” she said.
“Every month Start-Ups will focus on a different industry like for example Fintech, manufacturing, Agri business, green technology or creative fields to promote sector diversity, spark innovation and enable targeted learning,” said Hadebe.
“This initiative arrives at a crucial time as Pretoria’s entrepreneurs, particularly youth and township-based entities encounter both promising opportunities and notable obstacles in securing networks, funding and mentorship,” she said.
“I’m so happy to be on this event and I have learned a lot and I will tell others about it”, said Sello Mokwena.
“I’m happy that it is finally here in SA and local small business will get exposure and learn more about business and also get resources and funding”, said Tshepo Ngoepe.
