The SANTACO Women strongly condemns the latest killing of Thandazile Zulu, a woman connected to the taxi industry, marking yet another tragic loss in Gauteng’s ongoing taxi violence.

We send our condolences to her family, the taxi association she was linked to and all loved ones.

Unconfirmed reports indicate that the widow of a taxi owner (previously murdered in 2018/2019) was shot and killed near a Sasol garage in Buhle Park, Germiston.

This heinous act leaves her children orphaned and deepens the cycle of violence plaguing the taxi industry.

“When killers begin targeting women—mothers, widows, and caregivers it shows a new low in this senseless violence.

This is not just an attack on individuals; it is an attack on families, stability, and the very fabric of our communities” SANTACO Women Chairperson Duduzekile Maphumulo.

The SANTACO Women stand in solidarity with the bereaved family and all victims of taxi violence. We will not remain silent while women and children bear the brunt of this bloodshed.
