Former boisterous lobby group and now political party Operation Dudula says a referendum regarding the deportation of all illegal foreigners would be a dream come true for the party.

This as many people are, according to Operation Dudula, sick and tired of illegal foreigners who do as they wish in South Africa despite the fact that they are undocumented and their presence in the country is therefore unlawful.

According to Operation Dudula, a referendum will afford South Africans to make a choice once and for all as to whether they want illegal foreigners to be sent to their original homelands or not.

This as South Africans were not consulted in the first place when illegal foreigners were brought into the country.

Operation Dudula is of the opinion that the government is scared of a referendum as its results will go against the wishes of the government and leaders of some political parties who for their own selfish reasons want to see illegal foreigners living in this country.

In an exclusive interview with Tshwane Talks on Monday, Dudula’s Johannesburg Regional Executive Committee chairperson Emmanuel Mabogoane said Operation Dudula was formed in 2020 by people like Kruger Kekana in Soweto.

He said the well-known Nhlanhla Lux was just a member of the organisation and not an executive committee member.

“Operation Dudula was established because of how things were and still are getting out of hand in South Africa, especially regarding the issue of illegal foreigners as they don’t respect our Constitution and our government and they don’ even pay taxes and on top of that they sell counterfeit goods which don’t contribute to the enhancement of the country’s economy,” explained Mabogoane.

He said he personally joined Dudula around November 2022 as he could no longer fold his arms and watch foreigners turning the country into a mess with their unruly behaviour.

He said Operation Dudula is not xenophobic at all and would welcome foreigners into the country, but those foreigners must come into the country legally instead of jumping over the borders of this country.

On the issue of the Hunan Rights Commission and other NGOs taking the government to court to prevent it from deporting illegal foreigners, Mabogoane said the following:

“It is very hurting and sad that these organisations are using the courts to prevent the deportation of illegal foreigners because they don’t care about our beloved country, but instead benefit from the cheap labour that is provided to them by illegal foreigners,” said Mabogoane.

He explained that though at the moment Operation Dudula is not planning any mass action against illegal foreigners, the party still subscribes to its slogan which entails seeing all illegal foreigners going back to their respective countries with immediate effect.

“But if the government doesn’t carry out its obligations to return these illegal foreigners to their countries, then Operation Dudula will soon stage massive demonstrations, pickets, strikes and marches countrywide to drive its point home,” he said.

He emphasised that Operation Dudula did record some successes in its campaign against illegal foreigners.

“We managed to take out illegal foreigners out of employment at companies wherein they had been employed and we also managed to destroy many of the illegal churches which had been established by foreigners who were abusing our people in their churches,” said Mabogoane.

Mabogoane lamented the fact that the IEC actually prevented Operation Dudula from contesting in the national government elections as it was, due to some technicality, only allowed to compete at provincial level.

Be that as it may, Mabogoane expressed hope that because Operation Dudula is now a fully-fledged political party, it will successfully contest the 2026 local government elections as it also has branches countrywide like many political parties in South Africa.
