OPERATION DUDULA PROTEST AGAINST ASYLUM SEEKERS

Members of Operation Dudula staged a protest march outside the offices of Home Affairs Minister Leon Schreiber at Arcadia in Tshwane on Thursday regarding the Minister’s directive to allow foreigners to register themselves as asylum seekers.

According to Operation Dudula Freeman Bhengu Schreiber’s decision is wrong and illegal.

“We are here to tell Minister Schreiber that he has overstepped his mandate and at the moment Home Affairs offices are full of foreigners as a result of Schreiber encouraging them to go there and seek asylum,” he said.

“The issue of foreigners is a very serious matter in South Africa and Schreiber’s decision to just decide overnight to register foreigners as asylum seekers is an insult to South Africans,” he said.

“My message to South Africans is that they they must wake up and go and shut down all Home Affairs offices where they see a foreigner being attended to,” he said.

“To the Minister of Home Affairs and the Government of National Unity we are saying we know what you are trying to do and you won’t succeed because we will fight against it as South Africans under the leadership of Operation Dudula and other NGOs,” enthused Bhengu.
