KILLING OF POLITICAL OPPONENTS IS PURE HOOLIGANISM IT MUST BE CONDEMNED

All patriotic South Africans who cherish the hard fought democracy will condemn the barbaric and reckless killings that are happening in our townships.

We must remind these hooligans clad in political party regalia that this is not the freedom that we fought for.

The killing of political opponents shows how hooligans masquerading as politicians have infiltrated political parties.

This is clearly not politics.

The killing of four (4) ANC Youth League members and wounded several others on Tuesday evening in Ekurhuleni after attending a memorial service of one of their comrades.

Tears of the ANC have not even dried, then two of its members are gunned down in Umgababa Kwa-Zulu Natal during a door-door campaign.

These hooligans must be stopped immediately.

These barbaric killings have the potential to take the country back to the bloody years of 1984-85 where many innocent people lost their lives because of political intolerance. We must do everything possible to isolate these hooligans.

Activists and Citizens Forum calls upon society to intensify the war against illegal firearms.

The law enforcement agencies must arrest and prosecute these hooligans.

They must be removed from society.

They belong in jail.

We pass our heartfelt condolences to the families, friends, comrades and their political home the ANC.
