Executive Mayor of Tshwane

The City of Tshwane has launched an Urban20 (U20) Mayors’ Summit fundraising
effort to partner with stakeholders and businesses as the City prepares to host this historic global event.

The City of Tshwane and the City of Johannesburg were awarded co-hosting rights for the 2025 U20 Mayors’ Summit. For the first time in history, this conference, along with G20, will be hosted on the African continent.

This is a defining moment for our Capital City.

The U20 is a C40 initiative that aims to better prepare cities to deal with the impact of climate change.

Alongside mayors from across the world, I will partake in important discussions with our officials on the progress we are making to create a liveable future
for our residents.

The City of Tshwane will host the first series of meetings:

The Sherpa Meeting and the African Mayors’ Assembly from 12 -14 June 2025.

The theme for this year’s U20 Mayors’ Summit is: Cities leading the way in reimagining global change.

The City wants to host these upcoming meetings with the partnership of the private sector and stakeholders.

We are calling on businesses who have found Tshwane to be the ideal investment destination to invest in U20.

Your support will help bring the world to Tshwane.

Over the past several months, we have put in place initiatives that are aimed at reshaping Tshwane’s economic potential.

We are ready to use U20 as a powerful
opportunity to amplify our efforts to build a sustainable city where infrastructure enables inclusive growth, supports a green economy and restores public trust.

This conference is our chance to invest in the future of Tshwane and South Africa.

We have a series of partnership packages available to stakeholders that will enable their sponsorship of the City of Tshwane’s U20 meetings.

Please contact Tebogo Mphephu for partnership packages.
