Kasi Kuzin Chillas hosted their 7 year anniversary celebration ceremony on Saturday 25 November at Mr T car wash situated in section 18-Mamelodi east Tshwane.
They allowed Mamelodi entrepreneurs to put their stalls without payment.
At least 15 local emerging business owners were given an opportunity to display their products ranging from clothing brands, wines, food.
Residents gathered at the free marketplace to spend their money with the aim of supporting local business.
“This is the first time I come here to display my stall of clothing range and I’m happy I got the support, and my clothing line was sold like cakes,”Bayon brand owner James Ngwane said.
He said he encourages other local brand entrepreneur to come with their stall and show cases their brands.
Willy Bobela of Willies tuck shop and fast food said his favorite Russians, minces kota and wors kota sold and people were happy to taste different kota with different flavor.
“I’m always available when they host events like this and I go and place my stall and make my kota’s and it has grown my business and people love it,” Bobela said.
One of the founder of the Organization Thabo Dube told Tshwane Talks that they decided to celebrate their 7 year anniversary in style by hosting Kasi entrepreneurs to allow them to show case their local brands and products to community.
He said “we realized and became aware there are many business owners in Mamelodi not known.
“We are so happy that we have come so far, and it been 7 years of tears, joy, happiness and disappointed but we pass through that by grace of the lord,” Dube said.
He said we are supporting and promoting local entrepreneur by giving them platform to expose their business to the public.
There are lots of people who are doing stuff, and they need space to show case their talents.
“Our core is to promote local brands and make sure we stimulate our economy.
We give entrepreneur of Mamelodi a new marketplace,” he said.
Dube said we give them exposure as well and creating new markets.
Our Kasi business are suffering because we don’t run our business professionally and supply is very important when a person run a business.
“We want to see our local brands grow from South Africa to the international market,” he said.
He said we don’t want them to pay because it is our anniversary.
When Mamelodi entrepreneur put their stalls, it depends on the venue. If we get venue for free and we don’t charge them.
“We are calling out entrepreneur of Mamelodi to contact us to come and show case their business so people can know about it, and it can grow.
We want to encourage entrepreneurs of Mamelodi come out and they must bring their A game and must not be afraid to do something to get out of their comfort zone and must do something excellent.
Founding members of the organization are Mawela brothers, Thabo Dube, Ntando Mboweni, Dickson Mtshweni and Meme Mailmela.
