IS MBALULA’S COLLAPSE AN OMEN OF THE WAY THE ANC WILL EVENTUALLY COLLAPSE

Let me start off by wishing ANC Secretary General Fikile Mbalula a speedy recovery after he collapsed outside the Constitutional Court on Thursday.

It was so heart-rending seeing him literally going down in front of journalists.

Now is Mbalula’s collapse an omen of the way the ANC will eventually collapse?

Or is his collapse actually a metaphor of the fact that the party has already collapsed?

As it would be unnecessary to look at what is actually troubling Mbalula health-wise, it would be appropriate to look at what is actually troubling the ANC itself.

Here are some of the factors which in my opinion are the causes of the ANC’s ailment:

1.The Constitutional Court, which has of late become a focal point in terms of its recent controversial rulings, including the one which says foreigners may stay in the country and may not be deported while applying for asylum, irrespective of whether they have entered this country illegally.

2.The tender system which has seen criminal elements benefiting at the expense of the general community.

3.The proportional representative Parliamentary system that does not hold Parliamentarians
accountable for their actions but actually gives them the power to be a law unto themselves without fearing that their constituencies may recall them from Parliament if they misbehave.

4.Lack of religious instruction at schools which leads to learners growing up as non-spiritual beings.

5.Closure of nursing and teacher’s colleges.

6.The employment of foreigners in all spheres of government including Municipalities, national and provincial government structures, technikons and universities.

7.Corrupt police officers and prison wardens.

8.Failure to curb the scourge of nyaope and other drugs especially in the townships.

Get well soon Mr Mbalula.
