National Leader of Forum for South Africa (FOSA)
The Forum for South Africa (FOSA) welcomes the work of the Madlanga Commission of Inquiry.
The commission has already exposed disturbing levels of corruption, abuse of power, criminality, and the looting of taxpayers’ money within the state.
What has been revealed so far is only the beginning, and South Africans deserve the full truth.
FOSA believes the commission must not end prematurely.
It should continue for at least another two to three years to ensure that every individual involved in corruption, regardless of their political position or influence, is exposed and held accountable.
We also commend the courage and bravery of Lieutenant General Nhlanhla Mkhwanazi for speaking out against alleged corruption.
Had he not come forward with these serious allegations, there would likely have been no Madlanga Commission.
His actions have opened the door for the truth to come to light, and South Africans owe him gratitude for putting the country before personal interests.
Government has previously shown that it can find hundreds of millions of rand for emergency operations.
If hundreds of millions can be spent on a single day’s security deployment, then there can be no excuse for failing to properly fund a commission that is uncovering corruption and protecting the public interest.
South Africans are tired of corruption, state capture, and the misuse of public funds.
The Madlanga Commission must be given the time and resources it needs to finish its work without fear or political interference.
FOSA will continue to support every genuine effort to expose corruption, recover stolen public money, and ensure that those responsible face the full might of the law.
