The Rain Queen Modjadji Foundation hereby issues this formal notice to correct ongoing misrepresentations, misinformation, and the unlawful misuse of the Modjadji royal identity by individuals and structures operating under the so-called “Maulwe Royal Court,” allegedly associated with Mathole Motshekga,Samuel Manyama, and their affiliates.

1. Guardianship Position and Legal Framework

It is hereby stated that any guardianship arrangement previously associated with Mr Mathole Motshekga must be understood within the framework of the Children’s Act 38 of 2005, which governs guardianship and parental responsibilities in South Africa.

In terms of this Act, all guardianship and custodial responsibilities automatically terminate upon a child reaching the age of majority, being 18 years.

Accordingly, any continued claim of guardianship or authority over Her Majesty Queen Masalanabo Modjadji beyond this legal threshold is without legal basis and is not recognised by the Foundation.

2. Acknowledgement of Past Role

The Foundation records that Dr Tebogo Mokope Modjadji previously acknowledged and expressed gratitude to Mr Motshekga during the Queen’s 18th birthday celebration at KARA, solely in recognition of his past role in her upbringing.

This acknowledgment constituted a gesture of closure and respect, and must not be
misconstrued as ongoing authority or custodianship.

3. Misuse of Royal Identity and Public Misrepresentation

The Foundation strongly condemns the continued misuse of the Modjadji royal name, title, and associated identity by the so-called “Maulwe Royal Court.”

Such actions are misleading to the public and contribute to unnecessary division within the Balobedu nation.

4. Clarification on Public Communications

The Rain Queen Modjadji Foundation confirms that it has issued statements in support of national civic matters strictly from its institutional capacity.

At no stage was Her Majesty Queen Masalanabo Modjadji personally named, invoked, or used as part of any political or civic endorsement.

Any interpretation to the contrary is incorrect.

Furthermore, public comments made by social media users on Foundation platforms including expressions such as “All hail the Queen” or similar—do not constitute official statements of the Foundation and should not be interpreted as such.

5. Disassociation from the Maulwe Royal Court

The Foundation hereby formally distances itself from any attempt by the so-called Maulwe Royal Court to position itself as aligned with, representative of, or superior to the Rain Queen Modjadji Foundation.

Any such claims are false, misleading, and do not reflect endorsement from the legitimate Modjadji Royal Foundation and the legitimate Modjadji Royal Family structures that support the Foundation.

6. Authority, Legitimacy and Royal Structures

The Rain Queen Modjadji Foundation operates with the recognition and support of legitimate Modjadji Royal Family structures.

Its mandate is rooted in cultural preservation, unity, and lawful representation of heritage under recognised royal authority.

7. Warning and Legal Position

The Foundation hereby cautions all individuals and entities engaged in defamation, impersonation, and the dissemination of false or misleading statementsregarding its mandate, the Royal House, or Her Majesty.

Such conduct is noted and may result in appropriate legal action being instituted without further notice.

8. FAMILY LEGACY and INHERITANCE

The title “Rain Queen” is not the personal property of any individual member of the Modjadji Royal Family.

It is a sacred dynastic title and a family legacy, held in trust for the Royal House and passed on in accordance with the customs, traditions, and succession practices of the Modjadji Royal Family.

The title represents the continuity of the royal lineage rather than the identity of any single individual.

9.Final Position

The Foundation remains committed to unity, dignity, cultural preservation, and the protection of the Modjadji Royal institution from distortion, unauthorised
representation, or external interference.

Issued in good faith and without prejudice.

We stand firm.

We remain legitimate.

We protect our Queen.
