Aggrieved former MK Party members Nhlamulo Ndhlela and Duduzile Zuma-Sambudla have viewed to challenge their expulsion from the party in the High Court.

Ndhela is the MK Party’s former Spokesperson while Zuma-Sambudla is the daughter of the party’s leader Jacob Zuma.

At a media briefing held on Sunday in Sandton, Johannesburg the pair stated that their ejection from the party is procedurally flawed and therefore unlawful.

They told the media that they want the High Court to declare their sacking from the MK Party as null and void, so that they can be reinstated as fully-fledged members of the MK Party.

The following are some of the points highlighted by Ndhlela at the media briefing:

1.He and Duduzile Zuma-Sambudla were not formally notified about their expulsion and only learned about it via media reports.

2.There are attempts by some individuals to hijack the MK Party and that “internal purges” and factional battles are taking away focus from the party’s “core agenda.”

3.Expelling founder members like him and Duduzile Zuma-Sambudla is a dangerous precedent that will threaten ordinary branch members who “lack Constitutional protection.”

4.The MK Party leadership is turning the party into a joke and is behaving like “Teletubbies.”

Ndhela and Duduzile Zuma-Sambudla were expelled from the MK Party for unbecoming behaviour that brought the party into disrepute.

At the said media briefing, Duduzile Zuma-Sambudla stressed that she does not feel betrayed by her own father ( Jacob Zuma) regarding her dismissal from the party.

She instead put the blame for her dismissal on “people surrounding Jacob Zuma.”

According to the MK Party, the duo are guilty of removing the then ailing and now deceased Muzikayise Ntshingila from one hospital to another without the approval of the deceased’s family.

The two were also found guilty of ignoring instructions from senior party member John Hlophe not to attend the funeral service of the late Muzikayise Ntshingila, who was the party’s MP and elections manager at the time of his death.

Be that as it may, the late Ntshingila’s life partner Ayanda Maseko revealed at the selfsame media briefing that Ntshingila was in full control of his senses “throughout his painful journey” and gave consent for his own removal from the said hospital facility to another.

With the help of Duduzile Zuma-Sambudla and Nhlamulo Ndhlela, Ayanda Maseko facilitated the said removal of Ntshingila from one hospital facility to another.

Maseko described Duduzile Zuma-Sambudla as her pillar of strength during the period when Muzikayise Ntshingila’s health deteriorated.

She explained that she and the late Ntshingila shared five years of their lives together and that during that time ” we made plans together for the future and when his health deteriorated I remained by his side throughout his painful journey.”
