With continued efforts to adress criminal activities, the South African Police Service (SAPS) in Tshwane, led by District Commissioner Major-General Samuel Thine, executed a multidisciplinary operation on Thursday.

The operation primarily targeted the Bronkhorstspruit and Cullinan policing precincts.

Once againsupported by the Department of Home Affairs, Tshwane Metro Police Department (TMPD), Gauteng Provincial Traffic, and local Community Policing Forums (CPFs), the multi-disciplinary approach resulted in the arrest of 336 suspects for various offenses.

District detectives once again tracked and apprehended wanted suspects linked to serious and violent crimes, including murder, armed robbery, and attempted murder.

30 undocumented immigrants were detained and handed over to immigration officials for processing.

Additionally, two employers were fined for the illegal employment of undocumented foreign nationals.

Officers inspected 28 liquor outlets with 6 being closed and 9 fines issued for non-compliance with 190 347 ml of liquor confiscated.

High-visibility patrols and a roadblock saw 637 individuals and 280 vehicles searched. Traffic authorities issued 87 AARTO infringement notices totaling R45 000.

Targeted patrols in crime hotspots led to the arrest of 1 suspect for possession of unlicenced firearm and ammunition.

The recovered firearm will be subjected to forensic testing to establish whether the weapon has been used in other criminal activities.

5 Second-hand dealerships were inspected, all of whom were found to be compliant with the Second-Hand Goods Act.

Major-General Samuel Thine expressed his sincere gratitude to all SAPS members and external stakeholders.
