The Forum for South Africa (FOSA) notes that Police Sergeant Fannie Nkosi will remain behind bars following the postponement of his bail application to 13 April.

While this development marks a continuation of the legal process, it also raises deeper and more urgent questions about accountability.

FOSA maintains that the arrest and detention of Nkosi must not be treated as the end of the matter, but rather as the beginning of uncovering a far broader network of corruption.

We are concerned that what is currently before the public reflects a pattern South Africans know all too well the arrest of an alleged agent or middleman, while those who operate behind the scenes remain untouched.

Let us be clear: we are not satisfied with the arrest of individuals who are merely used to execute instructions.

In many instances, these individuals do not possess the financial power or influence to act independently.

They are often recruited, funded, and directed by more powerful figures who benefit from corruption while shielding themselves from accountability.

The critical question remains:

Who are the masterminds behind this? Where are the real beneficiaries? Where are the bosses?

FOSA rejects any narrative that suggests justice has been served by focusing only on those at the bottom of the chain.

True justice requires that investigations go beyond the visible actors and expose those who plan, fund, and profit from these activities at the highest level.

We therefore call for:

-A full and uncompromising investigation into the broader network linked to this case
-The tracing of financial flows to identify those who financed and directed the operation
-The urgent arrest of all individuals involved, particularly those in positions of power
-A justice system that applies the law equally, without fear or favour

South Africans are tired of selective accountability where the weak are prosecuted while the powerful remain protected.

We will not celebrate one arrest while the architects of corruption continue to evade justice.

The fight against corruption demands courage, integrity, and a willingness to pursue the truth to its highest level — no matter who is implicated.
