



The Pretoria Central SAPS looking fabulous
The Pretoria Central SAPS year-end function hosted by the station’s detective branch was a remarkable affair as officers came out in glitz and glam to grace the occasion; adhering to the stipulated theme of the colour black with a touch of gold.
The function was held at the ” LAYOUTH” restaurant in Sunny Park last Friday.
A formal programme was officiated by Sergeant Sepipi, with the opening prayer led by Chaplain Twala and messages of support from various component heads, including EHW were read out.
Several members received awards for categories for which they had been nominated as set out by the management.
The award winners were as follows:
1. Administration employee of the year: Miss Batwa and Miss Vermaak.
The award was handed out by Lieutenant Colonel Modisha, the head of MIC.
2. Best upcoming detectives: Constable Van Rooyen and Constable Fills.
The award was handed out by Lieutenant Colonel Mokgoro from Supply Chain.
3.Best upcoming Commander award was scooped by Sergeant Motau and was handed out by Lieutenant Colonel Naidoo.
The best detective group award went to C3 under the command of Warrant Officer Nabal led by Colonel Naidoo.
Best crime office group award went to Relief A led by Warrant Officer Mokwena.
The best Comnander award went to Warrant Officer Fourie abd was handed out by branch commander Colonel Ndala.
The Best Detective award went to Sergeant Mdaka and was handed out by Colonel Ndala.
The last award was handed out to the organising team of the year-end function.
The detective commander Colonel Kedibone Ndala took to the podium to congratulate the members on their achievement and urged them to ensure that they attend to the needs of the community with pride and dignity.
She further encouraged the spirit of unity among police officers considering the hardships that they endure on a daily basis in investigating crime and bringing the perpetrators to justice.
The station as a whole performed very well in ensuring that it maintains the required policing standards and ended up not as one of the worse performing stations in the country for the year.
In conclusion, Colonel Ndala thanked all who were in attendance for their support and love and everybody present joined in song and celebration.
Station Comnander Brigadier Hlengani Mashaba extended his appreciation for the work done by the detectives and commended them for their resilience, hardship and perseverance, taking into account the might of the job at hand.
