ANC volunteers in Soshanguve Extension 6 ward 90 were very ecstatic after their Ward Councillor Chiloane handed out food parcels to them on Friday.

Ward Councillor Chiloane pointed out that this is something that he does every year during the festive season.

About 350 volunteers of the ANC in Soshanguve Extension 6 were recipients of the food parcels.

“In some cases one would find out that somebody among the volunteers doesn’t even have mealie-meal in their homes and I hand out the food parcels at the end of each year so that they can have something to survive upon and be happy about,”he said.

“We handed out 12,5 kg of mealie-meal to each of them, 2kg packets of sugar, tin fish and beans amongst others,” said Chiloane.

He indicated that his offices won’t be closing during the Christmas festive season as he will, during this period, always be actively assisting residents from 7am to 7pm every day.

He indicated that his offices are situated at Soshanguve Extension 6, 25052.

Chiloane emphasised that during this festive season he would gladly assist residents regarding water leakages, sewer blockages and electricity outages.

Meanwhile, the ANC volunteers who received the food parcels told Tshwane Talks that they were very happy for the gifts and that they are happy to work with Councillor Chiloane as he always helps them out whenever they are in need.

“Councillor Chiloane is not just a Councillor but a brother, friend and much more,” said one of the volunteers.

“We are going to have a wonderful Christmas because of the food parcels that Councillor Chiloane has handed out to us,” she said
