The youth of Rama City in Ga-Rankuwa, Tshwane are determined to fight off alleged bogus and greedy crooks who want to destroy their area.

According to community members of Rama City, the youth in the area are in one spirit and have vowed to protect the present administrative committee of the area from people who want to take over leadership positions in the committee before their term is due as they are after money.

Residents who spoke to Tshwane Talks say the current administrative committee has done many good things in Rama City like developing the area and creating jobs, building houses, clinics, skills development Centre and many more other things.

The residents say people are not stupid but have eyes to see and are thankful to the current committee for the right things it has done for the community of Rama City.

The youth have apparently crushed all allegations that have been made against the current committee and have rallied behind it.

They youth want development and have warned members of a bogus committee to leave the Rama City and its committee alone.

It has emerged that members of the bogus committee are disrupting projects in the area, and they say this will force them to intervene as youth.

A meeting was held by the youth of Rama earlier this month regarding the state of affairs in the area and it was discovered that there is a bogus group that goes around the area falsely claiming to be the new, legitimate committee of the area.

“We won’t let any member of the bogus group to come here and destroy the beautiful work that has been done by the current committee which has been elected by the community,” said one of the youths in the community.

“Rama City is a peaceful place with lots of opportunities,” said the youth.

Another youth, Siyabuswa Letshweni, said they as the youth were proud of the current committee and that they will fight for it as they don’t want people from outside to come and destroy what has been built.

“We must be careful of wolves in sheep skin and as youth of Rama we must protect our projects and land,” she said.

Dorothy Mphiko told Tshwane Talks that the current committee will be elected again as it has done good things in Rama City.

“It is painful that our trusted and loved committee has created jobs for youths, but now greedy, bogus people come and destroy that, all because they don’t want beautiful things for Rama City but are only looking at their own self interests,” she said.

Andries Moswa said they know the identities of people who bring problems to the area and that they as youth must not let them do as they wish.

“Nobody knows who elected those people who call themselves the new committee,” he fumed.

“We must ignore the so-called new committee and give the current committee 150% support as we grew under their leadership,” said Katlego Poo.

“Our committee chairperson is doing a great job, we love his work, and we hope that all people who are blinded by the so-called fake new committee will one day wake up and come and work together with the committee as they will see the potential that we as youth see in the current committee,” said Skhumbuzo Mtambo.
