An organisation known as Stand Up South Africa has called upon President Cyril Ramaphosa to step down as President of South Africa with immediate effect.

Members of Stand Up South Africa, joined by another organisation known as Enough Is Enough, braved the intermittent rain to deliver a memorandum of their grievances at the Union Buildings on Monday morning.

The march started at the Church Square in the City centre of Pretoria.

“South Africa is on the brink of collapse, we can’t be led by a weak president, Ramaphosa must step down, he borrows lots of money from the European Union and we don’t know anything about the actual terms and conditions of the R240 billion that he borrowed from the European Union two weeks ago,” griped Stand Up South Africa Spokesperson and organiser Khustaz Mtwentwe.

“We believe that Ramaphosa has failed to lead the country into prosperity and as such we want him to go and this is only the beginning because there will be rolling mass action if he doesn’t resign as requested, and we are of the opinion that Ramaphosa has failed dismally as the lives of South Africans have become worse than before and thet we are faced with a dire situation whereby thousands and thousands of South Africans are losing their jobs on a daily basis,” fumed Mtwentwe.

“All that Ramaphosa writes about on twitter is the war situation in Gaza and does not say anything about the crisis in South Africa, so we are saying he is a failed president who always wants to be pushed before he can act,” lamented Mtwentwe.

“When Ramaphosa finally steps down, he must not be replaced by Paul Mashatile becaus we don’t want him either, and the days of the Parliament being dictated to by the ANC are over; we want a vote of no confidence in Ramaphosa,” emphasised Mtwentwe.

“We implore Parliamentarians to get rid of Ramaphosa because he is dragging this country down the drain, and we know that Ramaphosa won’t respond to our demands within the stipulated period as indicated in our memorandum, because he is weak and indecisive, but his failure to act will result in us mobilising even further against him,” warned Mtwentwe.

He insisted that since taking over as President of the country Ramaphosa has brought nothing but misery and corruption and that as Stand Up South Africa they urge him to quit and go home to Phalaphala Farm, even though they as Stand Up South Africa reckon he should actually be in jail at the moment.

Founder of Enough Is Enough Movement Natasha Mkhabela, affectionately known as MaDhlomo, told Tshwane Talks that the aim of the march was to protest against Ramaphosa and the government because the youth is tired and that the marchers are marching for their future because no one else is going to fight on their behalf, and the future is now and in as much as people may look look forward to the distant 2029 general elections in the country, the real battle for the future starts now.

“There is so much corruption going on at the top and there is so much ignorance going on at the top and I am doubtful as to whether these politicians are aware of our daily struggles due to their corrupt activities,” she said.

“Corruption money just doesn’t come from nowhere, it comes from taxpayers; we get taxed so heavily and for someone to just come and take taxpayers money and put it in their personal bank accounts doesn’t make sense, and we are calling on President Cyril Ramaphosa to either step down or step up,” she said.

“My message to the President is that he must step down and let the people govern; we can’t stand the nonsense that he has been dishing out to us as citizens of this country any linger,” enthused Mkhabela.

The demands of the rain-soaked members of Stand Up South Africa and Enough Is Enough are as follows:

1. Accountability and Transparency.

2.Job creation and an end to unemployment.

3.An end to crime and corruption, putting in place serious measures regarding justice and security in the country.
