Minister of Police Senzo Mchunu, who is on special leave, must really reflect very hard about the selfish decision he took to disband the Political Killings Task Team.
This decision has caused the death of a witness who testified before the Madlanga Commission.
The witness who was brutally killed was only known as witnes D.
He exposed gross corruption, murder, torture and serious criminal activities in the EMPD.
He specifically implicated Brigadier Julius Mkhwanazi.
Minister Mchunu’s 31 December 2024 selfish letter to disband the PKTT has caused a wife and children to lose a husband and father.
That letter has caused honest hardworking, loyal police officers of the PKTT to live in fear not only for their own lives but for the lives of their families.
This selfish, shortsighted, Police Minister Mchunu, must hang his head in shame.
He must do the honourable thing and resign to show remorse of the huge damage he has caused.
He must stop justifying the selfish decision he took to disband an effective police unit which is fighting murder and crime.
If Mchunu believes he is a true leader, he will put the interest of the country above his own interests and resign.
General Nhlanhla Mkhwanazi has warned the country that the country’s criminal justice system is infiltrated by criminal syndicates, and that the country is in a National Security crisis.
Everything that General Mkhwanazi has exposes on the 6 July has proved to be true.
Activists and Citizens Forum want to reiterate its call to President Cyril Ramaphosa to immediately fire Minister Mchunu.
