As the holiday season draws to a close, the South African National Taxi Council (SANTACO) assures the public of its commitment to safe transportation.

“We are deeply concerned about the recent taxi-related accidents recorded during the festive season and urge our drivers to exercise extreme caution on the roads.

The safety of our passengers is our top priority,” says SANTACO President, Motlhabane Abnar Tsebe.

As we embark on this new year, we reiterate our Hlokomeka road safety campaign mantra: “Safe transportation for all, every time, every day.” We will continue to work tirelessly to ensure that our passengers arrive at their destinations safely and in comfort.

In support of this commitment, SANTACO encourages the public to:

– Travel light to avoid overloading.

– Use permitted public transport for safety, rather than hitchhiking

– Plan your travel properly to avoid pressuring drivers to speed.

Through the Hlokomela road safety and customer service campaign, SANTACO will maintain regular taxi rank inspections and road-based awareness campaigns.
