MMC for Shared Services Kholofelo Morodi and City of Tshwane Mayor Dr Nasiphi Moya on an inspection tour in Pretoria West to reclaim Municipal property
By Cllr Kholofelo Morodi
MMC for Corporate & Shared Services
The City of Tshwane recently conducted an oversight visit to the Pretoria West
precinct, where large hectares of Council-owned property located at 3314 Sophie de Bruyn and Bloed Street have been successfully reclaimed.
This strategic land recovery is a critical step toward revitalising our city’s urban core.
Security measures have now been reinforced as demolition plans are finalised, paving the way for mixed-use development that will serve the economic and spatial transformation goals of Tshwane.
However, the City is gravely concerned by recent incidents of illegal trespassing and theft of building materials from the site.
Let it be unequivocally stated: those who violate the law by unlawfully accessing this property or stealing its materials will face arrest, and their vehicles will be impounded.
This is public land, reclaimed for public benefit not for looting or
lawlessness.
We call on the community, stakeholders, and investors to join us in safeguarding this asset as we move forward in restoring dignity, safety, and opportunity across Pretoria West.
