Pretoria Central SAPS kicks off the Campuses safety program.
It is one of the major stations with several colleges some of which are located within its policing Precinct.
The collaboration comes as a result of several concerns some of behavioral patterns amongst students.
Rosebank held a Compass Wellness and Safety program attended by lecturers and students, in collaboration with the SAPS, Gauteng Department of Health to raise awareness on the “Long-Lenacapavir prep injection”, First National Bank to give financial literacy to students, and CANSA to talk about Shavathon and breast cancer.
Sergeant Koketso Madi from the social crime prevention unit gave a talk on the presentation on preventative measures to not fall prey to crime, scams, robberies, or any form of lawlessness.
They were also educated on gender based violence, femicide, harassment, or any sexual offense along with the repercussions.
Programs such as victim empowerment at the station.
Virgin treated all to an aerobic and wellness session.
The station commander Brigadier Hlengani Gibin calls on all the colleagues to come on board to educate the staff and students, and help in curbing the scourge of crime.
This will assist in fighting and minimising social ills, such as fights and other unlawful acts that may hinder their future.
He further thanked all the role players.
Mr Chauke a Rosebank college team staff representative thanked all the supporters for coming forth and bringing change in higher learning institutions.
