Pretoria Central SAPS, conducts an outreach with the department of community safety in pernership with the community policing forum and the Marabastad business community to celebrate Nelson Mandela international day.
A united front by the men and women in blue with the support of the Department of Community Safety, partnered with the station CPF alongside the Marabastad Business Community and Habesha Community to commemorate 67 minutes of Mandela Day.
Struben shelter has once again been identified to offer support and further give donations.
This is a continuous effort by all to ensure that we continue with the legacy of Nelson Mandela for his sacrifices, in fighting for humanity and equality.
SeveralSomeMany of clothing items, food supplies, toiletries, and cleaning materials were donated by the Marrabastad Business Community.
The Habisha community also came through to give a share, displaying a united front in the remembrance of Nelson Mandela.
A representative of MBC said they are paying their respects to a great leader, to carry his values, and also to alleviate poverty in our communities to see a united Africa.
The station commander Brigadier Gibin Hlengani Mashaba, thanked the MBC for their support and for having carried out a commendable act of courage, support, and goodwill.
He said that the SAPS mandate is to protect, police the community, uphold the law, and prevent crime but it does not work alone.
All the other departments, law enforcement agencies, security companies, and NGOs such as Kopano Manyano that were part of it play a crucial role in caring for victims and vulnerable groups.
In his closing, he called on the community to report crime, not to sit with information that can assist the police.
The community spoke about corruption and some police commit such acts, through the engagement they were urged to report and can do it anonymously so through a suggestion box placed at stations, crime stop line 10111, MySAP thus to ensure the appropriate units can investigate angage with the sector manager.
No one is above the law, no officer will dent the image of the SAPS, the community should feel safe and entrust the law.
