By Warrant Officer Puleng Motholo
TMPD Spokesperson
The Tshwane Metro Police Department Overload Control Unit intercepted a white Mazda bakkie in Wonderboom carrying a heavy load on its way to Zimbabwe.
The vehicle was taken to Akasia Weighbridge for inspection, where it was discovered that the vehicle load exceeded the recommended weight limit by 222%
It was also discovered that the trailer attached to the vehicle is unroadworthy, which led to the discontinuation and impoundment of the trailer.
The TMPD maintains a zero-tolerance policy toward vehicle overloading and no leniency will be shown.
