Members of Operation Dudula threaten to remove illegal immigrant children at public schools. This call was made on Thursday when they march to department of basic education.
More than 300 members of Operation Dudula march to the department of basic education to hand over a memorandum of demand.
The party demands that all illegal immigrant learners to be removed at South African public schools and must be deregistered and dismissed and the department of home affairs take charge and enforce the law.
The march started at Union Building led by President of Operation Dudula Zandile Dabula with members of Operation Dudula from all over 9 province and the mothers of children’s who did not get space at schools also join the march.
They hand over a memorandum of demand to the Chief of Staff Paul Sihlabela.
They demand respond within 7 days.
Presidents of Operation Dudula Zandile Dabula told the Tshwane Talks that we are at the department of basic education to deliver a memorandum with demand.
The South African schools are inundated with illegal immigrant learners at primary schools both public and private. Admission of illegal immigrant learners does not only violet our immigration laws but enables human trafficking.
The admission of illegal immigrant children compounds the already existing problems at our schools. Our local children have to travel far because the nearest school is occupied by illegal immigrant learners.
“We are tired of foreign national’s children’s that are being prioritize in our public and private schools and we are here to set off the record straight,” Presidents of Operation Dudula Zandile Dabula said.
She said the school governing bodies must refrain with immediate effect the taking of affidavits as proof of residence, birth and nationality from the applicants for admission as their school. All learners must produce proof of vaccination against polio, yellow fever on admission.
“Our country does not have enough budgets to cater all illegal foreign nationals and illegal immigrant children are not accounted for in the national budget,” she said.
Dabula said we have started with our legal process and tomorrow we are going to submit papers with our legal team at the high court because we are tired. We know when you submit a memorandum there’s nothing happens but now, we have decided to take it to another level.
“We want them to start now to clean up these schools and must not accept any foreign nationals who are carrying passports.
Because a passport is not a visa for their children’s to be at school,” Dabula said.
Department of basic education Chief of staff Paul Sihlabela said they acknowledge the memorandum and they have received it and they will respond within 7 days and they thank them for coming.
“Their memorandum is clear, and we received a memorandum, and we will respond within 7 days,” Sihlabela said.
“I support Operation Dudula because my kid is stuck at home three schools rejected him and I submitted everything they want but still they no space,” Mary Sathekge.
