NotInMyName International is deeply dismayed and heartbroken by the National Prosecution Authority’s (NPA) decision not to pursue charges in the alleged rape of a seven-year-old girl in Matatiele.
This case has rightfully sparked national outrage, highlighting systemic failures in protecting South Africa’s most vulnerable—our children.
We demand an immediate, transparent review of the investigation and urge the NPA to reconsider its position.
Justice cannot be deferred when a child’s safety and dignity are at stake.
Accountability is non-negotiable—not only for the victim’s healing but as a deterrent against future atrocities.
South Africa’s moral conscience is being tested.
We stand with the survivor, her family, and every child failed by a system meant to safeguard them.
The NPA must act decisively to restore public trust and demonstrate that such crimes will never be met with impunity.
