Mamelodi Local and Long Distance Taxi Association chairman and businessman Stemmer Monageng urged guests to adopt a child during his 60th birthday celebration held at Menlyn Time square in Tshwane on Sunday evening.
Among the guests were prominent members of the taxi industry, politicians and business people and neighbours.
Former Public Protector and current MKP Mpumalanga Chairperson Busisiwe Mkhwebane and her husband David Skosana MKP party MP, SALLDTBO president Joe Sibanyoni, SANTACO president Abner Tsebe, MATA chairperson and FELLTA President Ben Maredi, chairperson Gauteng Taxi Alliance Mr Mpho Motsepe,SALLDTBO chairman Mr Masase, SANTACO Tshwane chairman Mr Rasepai, President of TOPICA Adam Mahlangu, general secretary of NTA Alpheus Mlalazi, were also in attendance.
Angels of Dance group from Mamelodi provided entertainment during the birthday celebration.
Oprah singers also provided entertainment for the guests.
More than 300 guests attended Monageng’s birthday celebration.
During his vote of thanks Monageng urged everyone to adopt a child in the community that they live in so that they can help them out of the poverty that they live in.
Monageng himself has adopted more than 100 children’s in Mamelodi that he supports every month with groceries, clothes, school uniform.
He revealed that he has also adopted members of the angels of dance group.
Monageng is married to two wives and has 7 children Lethabo, Karabo,Tsholo, Kgothatso, Thuli, Tebogo, Kefilwe and Khumo.
His kids praised their father Monageng as a good, loving, patient, giving, understanding and kind person.
The kids said they will die for their father because he has done so much for them in their lives.

Various guests donated gifts and money for Monageng to go on a vacation with his two wives.
Various guests praise Monageng as a dedicated business man and loyal friend.
MATA chaiperson Ben Maredi said Monageng is the one who created unity in the taxi industry in Mamelodi to end taxi violence in the area.
Monageng’s second wife Meloba recited the Monageng family’s praise poem.
Both his wives Dikeledi and Meloba Monageng thanked him for cherishing them and giving them respect, love and care.
“This man is my partner in crime.
When there is a deal to negotiate, he calls me.
When there is a problem to solve, he calls me.
When there is trouble he also calls me!

happiness in your family,growth in your businesses and peace in your heart,” said SALLDTBO president Mr Joe Sibanyoni.

Monageng emphasised that his birthday party was a campaign to adopt a child.
He expressed appreciation for the support that he gets from his friends, family, business people, the taxi industry and the community of Mamelodi at large.
He pointed out that he will always work for peace and unity in the taxi industry.
“I’m happy that finally there is peace in the taxi industry and i would like to say a birthday is just a number and that age remains the same,” he said.
“I’m dedicating my birthday to children who are in need in the community,” said a jubilant Monageng.
