Hundreds of MK Party Youth League members marched to the South African Police Services (SAPS) headquarters in Tshwane on Thursday to hand in a memorandum wherein they threatened that the country would come to a standstill should anything awry happen to outspoken Kwa Zulu Natal Police Commissioner Lieutenant General Nhlanhla Mkhwanazi.

National Organiser of MK Party Students Movement Bayanda Mchunu told Tshwane Talks that their mandate is to warn the police that nothing awry must happen to General Mkhwanazi after he exposed corruption in the SAPS in full glare of the media last Sunday.

“Mkhwanazi has done a lot of work in exposing criminal senior officers in the SAPS; we are here to express solidarity with him and we want him to remain as KZN Provincial Police Commissioner and that he must eventually rise to the position of Minister of the National Department of SAPS,” said Mchunu.

“The Minister of Police Senzo Mchunu must understand that people at grassroots level stand by General Mkhwanazi and that we are therefore going to rally behind him (Mkhwanazi) as he has reclaimed the SAPS from ANC people who have corrupted it,” he said.

He warned that should General Mkhwanazi be fired, then there will be two times more damage than what happened in the country when Jacob Zuma was imprisoned for defying a Constitutional Court order to give evidence at the Zondo Commission of Enquiry into State Capture in July 2021.

“We are aware that the ANC is full of corrupt people who regard the interests of our people as a nuisance to them and don’t entertain anything that has to do with the people because all that they do is to secure their bread via ownership of shares in various entities,” he said as he in the process alleged that 99% of ANC leaders have business interests in various private entities.

“We should be united as South Africans and get to the bottom of corruption that has engulfed this country and all corrupt leaders in the ANC must face the might of the law,” said Mchunu.

“After cleaning organised crime in KZN, General Mkhwanazi will then clean up the whole country regarding corrupt leaders and criminal syndicates,” enthused Mchunu.

“We are Mkhwanazi and Mkhwanazi is us!” roared members of the MK Party Youth League before submitting their memorandum to the SAPS.

Sinomusa Dlodlongwana Gauteng provincial convener MKPYL said the following:

“We won’t tolerate political interference in the justice system as well as in the SAPS; Minister Senzo Mchunu we see you and we are asking you to step down from your position as Minister of Police.”

Dlodlongwana continued as follows:

“We are asking for the immediate suspension of National Deputy Police Commissioner Crime Detection Shadrack Sibiya and for the killers of DJ Sumbody and AKA to be arrested with immediate effect and not be protected by the police and the politicians; and as young people we are the ones who get negatively affected by drugs that are peddled by these drug syndicates.”
