We as uMkhonto Wesizwe party in the city of Tshwane will be approaching Hon Jacob Mamabolo, the MEC of COGTA in Gauteng through our representative in the legislature Hon Neville Dilebo MPL, calling on the MEC to apply section 139(1)(a) of
the constitution, which empowers the province to issue directives instructing the municipality what must be fixed, before the city completely collapses.

Just this week the Content creator Mayor of the city went on national television to
admit that the city spends over 30 million per annum paying senior officials of the city to sit at home and do nothing.

This is over and above the 1.2 billion rands of irregular fruitless and wasteful expenditure flagged by the auditor general.

As though these are the only challenges the city is facing under this proxy ANC
government of ActionSA, the Mayor chose to ignore damming revelations of corruption as exposed by an audio that made rounds of the Chaiperson of the section 79 portfolio on housing boasting about how they deal tenders amongst themselves as politicians in the city at the detriment of service delivery.

We are of the view as MKP that the rot is way too deep and an immediate intervention
is necessary to save the city.

We are even aware that the governing parties do not see eye to eye on most matters and parties like the EFF who sometimes might be seen to be trying to fight for the residents are bullied into submission.

In line with a tweet responding to the Content creator Mayor of Tshwane, MMC Ramabodu laments that the city manager is a law unto himself and must go.

1. We as uMkhonto Wesizwe would like to reaffirm the correct call of the EFF that
the DA city manager in Tshwane must go immediately.

This man has led the city to it’s worst financial position.

He presided over the worst governance failures the city has seen attributable to his failure to lead and his mediocrity has led not only to collapse of services to mainly poor and black communities but to deaths
of people in Hammanskraal due to contaminated water while his cronies were
milking the city to death under his watch.

2. We call on the immediate suspension of the Chairperson of section 79 oversight
committee of Housing Cllr Mphahlele pending a full independent forensic investigation into his admission of corrupt practices in a leaked audio.

3. We call on a full update on the Hammanskraal water crisis.

The city had committed to residents of Hammanskraal that they will have clean drinking water from their taps by June last year and to date nothing has happened.

4. The immediate reinstatement of these officials for whom we pay top rand for while they stay at home instead of assisting the city in this perilous time.

5. Immediately pay ALL outstanding monies owed to Tshwane employees in line with the bargaining agreement.

We further will be engaging local communities to prepare them for a mother of all battles to save our city as we build up to the local government elections.

MK Party remains committed to be the only voice of the marginalized black masses of
Tshwane who remain on the margins of receiving quality basic services.
