The members of the newly formed political party hold a very special day for their members in Tshwane.
The Umkhonto We Sizwe MK political party hosted a meet and greets session.
The session was held at Church Square in Pretoria on Saturday.
The meet and greet session proceeded to Atteridgeville, where members of the party had a motor cade in the township.
The members of MK party from different region across Tshwane and Gauteng paint the Church Square with the beautiful color green.
Members sing and dance revolutionary songs.
Amongst the guests were National coordinator Shirely Brown, Chief Mabena from the royal house, Tshwane members and other members across Gauteng.
Speaking to Tshwane MK convener Neville Delibo told the Tshwane Talks that they are here to meet and greet session and to meet other sub regions.
We are here to meet each other so we know who the conveners are, coordinators of our sub regions and also our wards.
During the meet and we also push registration for our political party.
All members are welcome to register. We are here to enjoy ourselves as MK party.
“We are very happy to see the turn out of the people and we didn’t expect it and people came in numbers to support,” Debilo said.
He said people are registering on a daily basis, it just some people are registering online.
This was the first ever meet and greet in Tshwane of our members and we notice that MK got the power in Tshwane, and we also have support from other region Daveyton, Johannesburg, Tembisa. We had massive supports.
Residents of Tshwane are very tired, and it evidence that people are tired and people wants change and unfortunately our current government is not addressing social economic issues, people still don’t have jobs, people are unemployed, and we have to address issue of poverty especially in our township there is no services delivery since DA took over municipality in Tshwane nothing is happening.
“Tshwane resident come and join MK party and change your lives and this is the time to change their lives, time to regain the municipality, time to voice our demand, this is the time to change and better our lives and better our people’s lives.
The opposition party must watch out, MK is coming, and they are very scared we can see, and we don’t recruit people, people come, we don’t make noise, we don’t convince anyone, and people just come and join MK,” he said.
Debilo said we mop out the way forward on how we are going to operates, and how are we going to swell the metropolitan, how are we going to swell our wards and how are we going to mobilise to get numbers and to get members.
“We want to thank the support from all the regions and members and let’s continue respecting each other and party rules,” Debilo said.
“We will implement the freedom charter as it is, and we won’t change it and we will fight to get the land back and claim it and we won’t allow our land to be handed over to white monopoly as long as we are alive,” National coordinator Shirely Brown said.
MK member George Rangata said the session of meet and greets was great.
We meet other members from other region that we did not know especially meeting the young people.
The session was a great idea and hopes to continue meeting new members every day.
