MAYOR MOYA ON A BY LAW OPERATION IN SUNNYSIDE

Executive Mayor of Tshwane, Dr Nasiphi Moya, MMC for Community Safety, Ald Hannes Coetzee, MMC for Corporate and Shared Services, Flora Monama , and MMC for Environment and Agriculture Management, Obakeng Ramabodu, joined the City of Tshwane’s Integrated By-Law Enforcement Committee (IBEC), together with TMPD and other law enforcement agencies, during a by-law enforcement operation in Sunnyside and the Pretoria CBD on Thursday night.

During the operation, several suspects were arrested and multiple vehicles were impounded for illegal parking and obstructing traffic.

Officials also discovered a food establishment selling unsafe food and found multiple violations of municipal health by-laws.

The food was confiscated and enforcement action was taken against the establishment.

In the Pretoria CBD, authorities uncovered an alleged brothel known as K20 Hotel, comprising 54 rooms.

Following inspections, the owner of the establishment was arrested.

The city will begin the work to have the establishment permanently closed.

The operation forms part of the City’s ongoing efforts to enforce municipal by-laws, improve public safety, and ensure compliance with city regulations.
