Zimbabwe mass movement Anti- Sanctions members joined by PAC pickets outside the USA embassy in Pretoria on Wednesday with heavy police present monitoring them. Their pickets follow their called-on USA to cancel sanction in Zimbabwe that they have imposed.
They deliver a petition to the USA embassy.

Zimbabwe was sanction is 2002 over concerns about political violence and human rights violations. The sanctions were adjusted in 2012 and 2013 in response to some progress. The Zimbabwe sanctions program targets human rights abusers and those who undermine democratic process or facilitate corruption.

Chairperson of the Anti-Sanction committee for Zanu PF in South Africa Walter Mbongolwane told the Tshwane Talks that they went to us embassy to deliver a petition about an illegal sanction that USA government have impose on Zimbabwe.

From 2001 they pass the law in their congress that says Zimbabwe must be place under sanction. This was an illegal act because United Nation has declared it as illegal sanctions. This sanction we want it to be remove. So, we went to the embassy to tell them to remove it.

“We as Zimbabweans are suffering under those sanctions and we are not here in South Africa by choice the Zimbabwe economy is not performing and we want those sanctions to be removed because they are creating a lot of suffering for Zimbabwe,” Mbongolwane said.

He said our economy is bad because every time we get into the international markets and want to trade, we find the American hands everywhere because they got this literal financially institutions and which mean it is very difficult for us to trade to realize our full potential as the country.

They took our memorandum and promised to take it to the authority up but we been coming to the embassy for the past 4 years and always do the same and take our memorandum and do nothing.

“We will continue to come here as long as the sanctions are still there and sanctions have killed our country and we want to go back home and build our country,” he said.

Mbongolwane said the American are ignoring us and are ignoring our called to cancel sanction and American and British acts together so we know that even though the Americans are the one created that acts they went to get it from Britain because Britain is a colonial power and now, we know until Britain also tax the nod and say sanctions are no longer necessary then they will remove them.

“We will continue to fight because we believe our is just a war and this is an act of war these sanctions are the declarations of war because we have lost our dignity, we have lost jobs, the industry has been destroyed by these sanctions and there is no job opportunity,” he said.

PAC Secretary for Foreign Affairs Makhato Motau said were joining mass movement which is not only in Zimbabwe not only in Africa, but it is an international movement which is against anti-imperial sanction the American have impose not only in Zimbabwe but also Cuba which it has been suffering for over 60 years.

PAC is a Pan Africanist organization which propagates the unity of the African continent. Pan Africanism is the only weapon that can defeat America and imperialism.

“We are opposing these sanctions because in Zimbabwe there is no development, the economy is down and that is why the people of Zimbabwe risk dying crossing rivers to come and try make a living in SA.

The economy of South Africa cannot care for everybody and that why we get these fights among us African,” said Motau.

He we are joining this march because sanction is actually a continuation of war but the American has disguise this because they no longer want to lose their troops by sending them in these countries to go and fight their battles, so they are coming with sanctions as a disguise way of continuing colonial, oppression, exploitation.

“All our minerals’ resources in Africa including in Zimbabwe are being taken and are serving in America for these wars and that is why we are opposing them,” he said.
