Following Tshwane Talks publication of the story about the shooting to death of a criminal gang leader of the Pharasae bandits, the police have now confirmed the shooting incident.

On Saturday, 2024-11-09, at approximately 15:00, Mamelodi-East Police officers responded to reports of a murder scene.

Upon arrival at Tsamaya Road, between Mams Mall and Kit Kat Supermarket, officers discovered the body of a 35-year-old male.

District Commissioner of Tshwane major General Samuel Thine said a witness on the scene reported that he and the deceased had been playing dice together.

According to the witness, the deceased received a phone call and mentioned he needed to resolve an issue but would return shortly.

As the deceased approached his vehicle, a black Suzuki Swift with unknown registration plates stopped behind him. Four unidentified males, all wearing masks, exited the vehicle and opened fire on the deceased.

The witness took cover, and once the suspects had fled, he checked on his friend, found him lying in a pool of blood, and immediately called for an ambulance.

The complainant reported that the deceased was found lying on his back, unresponsive, with six gunshot wounds to his body.

Several spent cartridges and projectile fragments were recovered from the scene.

“Mamelodi-East SAPS has opened a murder investigation into the incident.

We urge anyone with information that could assist in the investigation to come forward.

All information will be treated as confidential,” said major General Thine.
