LIMPOPO FEMALE CONSTABLE SENTENCED TO 8 YEARS FOR ALLEGED RAPE OF OWN SON

IPID welcomes the 8 year sentence imposed on a Limpopo female Constable, who allegedly raped her son in 2023, by the Middleburg Regional. Court on 12 November 2025.

The female Constable, who cannot be named as per the court order to protect the child , pleaded guilty to all 3 charges.

On Count 1, which is Sexual Assault, was sentenced to 10 years of which two is wholly suspended, Count 2, the production of Child phonography , sentenced to 2 years and Count 3, possession of child ponography also sentenced to two years.

The accused officer was seen in a video that went viral in 2023, having sexual intercouse with her son , who was 12 years at the time of the incident.

The accused Constable entered into a plea bargain with the State, and the count of rape was changed to sexual assault.

All charges will run concurrently, meaning she would serve an effective 8 year sentence .

The court also ordered that the names of the accused and victim should not be published in any media platform, including social media, to protect the child.
