Gruesome Murder Shocks Bloemfontein: Messiah Arrested

A 29-year-old man who calls himself the Messiah, was arrested for allegedly murdering and beheading a victim near the N8 National Road in Bloemfontein on Saturday afternoon.

The suspect was found laying naked in a stormwater drainage tunnel underneath Central Park Complex holding a human skull.

According to Mangaung police spokesperson Lt-Col Thabo Covane, the police received a tip-off about a person holding a skull at around 3pm.

“Members reacted swiftly and an African male was found laying naked in the stream with the skull in his hands and was immediately placed under arrest,” said Covane.

He added that the search along the stream led to the discovery of a beheaded body, a huge rock with bone fragments, flesh and brain matter near Nathan Street, Old East End.

“The suspect allegedly told police he killed the victim to prove he is ‘the Messiah’.

A case of murder and violation of a corpse was opened at Heidedal Police Station abd the suspect will appear in the Bloemfontein Magistrate Court soon.
