Four Suspects Arrested Following Hijacking of Vehicle and Recovery of Two Firearms in Temba

On Monday, 2025-03-31, at approximately 22H00 hours, a Volvo vehicle was hijacked in Temba.

Officers stationed at Temba immediately circulated an alert to all personnel and neighboring stations to be on the lookout for the vehicle.

The hijacked vehicle was later spotted in Rietgat and was subsequently stopped. The vehicle was recovered, and two suspects in the vehicle were arrested on charges of possession of suspected stolen property.

Preliminary investigations have since identified and traced two additional suspects.

Upon their arrest, two unlicensed firearms were discovered in their possession, along with personal items belonging to the hijacking victim.

They now face charges for possession of unlicensed firearms and ammunition, in addition to possession of stolen property.

Investigations are ongoing, and the recovered firearms will undergo forensic analysis to determine whether they were used in other crimes and if the suspects may be involved in further criminal activities.

Major-General Samuel Thine commended the officers for their exceptional work and dedication.
