A Portuguese national, Lazarus Lito Anthonio (26) from Carousel View appeared at the Temba Magistrates’ Court. He is facing charges of murder of his 20-year-old ex-girlfriend Kgaogelo Marota and attempted murder of his 20-year-old current girlfriend.
It is alleged that in the early hours of 21 August 2025, the accused went to Dubai tavern in Maubane village where he stabbed Marota, then went to his place of residence and attempted to kill his current girlfriend.
In the early hours of 22 August 2025, the police received information about the accused’s whereabouts, and he was arrested.
In court the case was postponed to 05 September 2025 for a formal bail application.
