The Economic Freedom Fighters (EFF) has called for all South Africans to boycott products by Israel during march to the embassy of Israel in Pretoria and called for embassy to shut down. The march follows the war that is currently ongoing between Israel and Palestine. The demonstration was meant to highlight solidarity with the people of Palestine who are being killed by Israel forces.
The marches was led by EFF commander in chief Julius Malema together with deputy ambassador of Palestine Bassan Elhussiny, Al Jama-ah councilor Moosa Imraan, ARENA leader Carl Neihaus and Denis Bloom spokesperson for activist and citizen forum.
Thousands of people have been killed along the Gaza strip since the 7 October attack by militant group Hamas on Israel. The retaliatory attacks from the Israeli defence force have left more than 4,300 people dead in Palestine according to its health ministry.
Julius Malema said they are not there to deliver a memorandum but to tell the Israeli embassy to shut down and go.
“Palestines have the right to defend their own land. The war in Palestine is not a holy war is an evil war. We must always stand against evil. What type of government in Israeli that goes and bombs a hospital where sick people seek refuge?
“The Hamas did nothing wrong they are fighting for their freedom because they are oppressed and when you are oppressed you only have one option to confront the enemy and shot to kill and do not kiss the enemy,” Malema said.
He said we are going to remove this embassy. We can’t stay with the murders in the same area, breathe the same air with people who killed innocent people.
ANC got the power to remove Israeli embassy they are not moving them because they are getting money from Israeli government. Mcdonald’s is giving the soldiers of Israeli food in Israeli.
“We are calling on Mcdonald South Africa to distance it selves from what is happening in Israeli.
We want them to issue a statement distancing them.
Woolworth got responsibility by end of this month to remove every product on their shelves that comes from Israeli. If they don’t remove product from Israeli then we will go and remove them ourselves,” Malema said
“We don’t want food that comes from the people who have blood of innocent people on their hands.
We are warning all those who are in business with Israeli we are coming for them because they are the one who make that government to be what it is.
We will never get tired, and we will come here as when we feel like all the time.
We will always come here to remind this people that we don’t want to see what is happening in Israeli.
EFFSC Presidents Sihle Lonzi said we called upon SRCSC to fight for the academic boycott of all Israeli academic, all Israeli researchers, all Israeli work which is done in the institution.
Jewish youth of South Africa and the world the EFF have no problem with Jewish people. We have a problem with a racist state of Israeli. We call on Jewish of SA to join and stand together in solidarity.
