An irate Winterveldt man Thila Stoffel Dikgang insists that City of Tshwane Municipality Deputy Mayor Eugene Bonzo Modise owes him R60 000 due to unpaid salaries which he says he deserves after rendering security guard services to Modise’s Triotic security company.

“I have worked for Modise’s Triotic security company from 2020 until 2023 November when my contract with it came to an end, but there is an outstanding salary of five months which up to now has not been paid to me by Modise’s Triotic security company for the time I was working at Land Rock ,” explained Dikgang.

“And there is also a one month outstanding salary which has also not been paid up until now for the time I worked for Triotic at Tshwane University of Technology (TUT),” he said.

“All in all Modise owes me six outstanding salaries which amount to R60 000.

“I have a payslip which shows that I have worked at TUT and that Modise has failed to pay me in this regard,” explained Dikgang.

“Our payslips indicate that UIF contributions were being deducted from our salaries but when we went to the Labour Department to claim our UIF we were told that Eugene Bonzo Modise was not paying our UIF to the Department of Labour even though he was actually deducting it from our salaries every month,” fumed Dikgang.

He said Modise has only paid those who have taken him to the Commission for Conciliation Mediation and Arbitration (CCMA) as well as those who have used lawyers to claim their money from him.

“I have been speaking to the company’s supervisors since I was laid off from work in 2023 regarding the outstanding salaries and each time I did so they have told me that they will convey my message to the owners of Triotic security company, yet I haven’t received even a cent in this regard up until now,” said Dikgang.

Dikgang also revealed that Modise informed them upfront when he employed him and his colleagues as security guards that he won’t be making any arrangements for them regarding Provident Fund.

Dikgang, who is a 38-year-old father of four kids, is currently unemployed and says life is unbearable for him.

He opines that the R60 000 outstanding salary owed to him by Modise would go a long way towards helping him make ends meet.

“I am asking for help and would be glad if anyone out there would help me get my money from Modise,” lamented Dikgang.

In response to Dikgang’s appeal for payment of outstanding salaries, Deputy Mayor Modise laconically said the following:

“Let him go to Triotic offices, 155 Dumbarton Road ,Arcadia, I’m not part of it anymore.”
